 A truck carrying Kanwar pilgrims overturned on the Rishikesh-Gangotri highway, leading to the death of one person and leaving several others seriously injured. The incident occurred between Jajal and Phakot on the highway.

There were 15 people onboard the vehicle at the time of the accident. The group was heading from Rishikesh towards Gangotri as part of the annual Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage.

Tragically, one person lost their life on the spot. Out of the injured, four individuals sustained serious injuries and have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh for advanced medical treatment. The condition of some of the other passengers is also reported to be critical. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
